Tricyclic and Anti-depressants drugs

Timex is indicated for the treatment of Obsessive-compulsive disorders, Phobias and panic attacks, Premature ejaculation, Cataplexy accompanying narcolepsy, Endogenous reactive, neurotic, organic, masked and involutional forms of depression, Depression associated with schizophrenia and personality disorders, Nocturnal enuresis.

Clomipramine Hydrochloride is contraindicated for patients known to have hypersensitivity to the drug.

Treatment with Timex tablet should be initiated with a small dose of 25 mg given at bedtime for about a week followed by gradual increments to a maximum of 150 mg per day in adults and 75 mg per day in the elderly patients.

The drug should be administered in divided doses to minimize gastrointestinal disturbances, however in view of its long half-life it can be administered as a single dose at bedtime. The drug is not recommended for children.

Clomipramine Hydrochloride is generally well tolerated. The use of Clomipramine Hydrochloride is commonly associated with gastrointestinal disturbances, such as dry mouth, constipation, nausea, dyspepsia and anorexia.

Cardiovascular insufficiency; narrow-angle glaucoma; urinary retention; history of epilepsy; renal or hepatic dysfunction; electroconvulsive therapy; hypotension; hyperthyroidism or concomitant treatment with thyroid preparations; suicidal tendencies; surgery; pregnancy and lactation; tasks requiring mental alertness; elderly. Avoid abrupt withdrawal.

The following drugs should be used with caution when concomitantly used with Clomipramine: Alcohol, Barbiturates and other CNS depressants, MAO-inhibitors, Anticholinergic and Sympathomimetic drugs, Guanethidine, Clonidine or similar agents.

Timex tablet: Each box contains 5 x 10’s tablets in Alu-PVC strips.

Timex is not recommended for children & adolescent.

Pregnancy category C. Nursing Mothers: Clomipramine has been found to appear in human milk, therefore in view of the potential for adverse reactions, a decision should be made whether to continue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
